Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Community Liaison Officers

We would like to introduce Ms Diyab, Ms Elshaimy and Ms Poa WPGHS Community Liaison Officers.

Ms Diyab has worked at WPHGS since 2010 and is very experienced in dealing with parents from various school cultures. Ms Diyab speaks Arabic and English and is a mentor in our community. Ms Diyab is extremely passionate about her job and her role as CLO involves building strengthening relationship between parents, students, teachers and the wider community.

Ms Elshaimy’s background is in Community and Social Work and has been working in this field for over 20 years. Ms Elshaimy is a mother of four with four grandchildren. Although she was born in Australia her background is Italian but she also speaks Arabic. Ms Elshaimy holds a Bachelor in Community Welfare and a Post Grad Diploma in TESOL and is passionate about the community and its state in general.

Ms Poa has worked at WPGHS for many years. Ms Poa establishes links by liaising with our students, parents, staff and our community.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.
