Learning from home

We're keeping students learning both in and out of the classroom.

Explore the department's Learning remotely resources to support both online and offline learning for all students.

Learning remotely without technology

We understand some students do not have access to a device or internet for online learning. Contact the school to discuss non-digital learning from home options for your child.

COVID-19 - Technology support for WPGHS students

Student Portal - Each student has a Department of Education (DoE) student portal user profile. Students use this student portal regularly at school and should be very familiar with log in procedures. The portal can be accessed at home on the internet by searching  'Department of Education student portal' in your brower. Google Chrome is the preferred browser.

Students experiencing password difficulties logging in to the portal should  contact the school Librarian (Ms D Saisanas) or the Deputy Principal (Mrs J Fitzpatrick) to request a reset of passwords and/or check the accessibility of the portal for the student.

The student portal has access to school email and a range of ICT software in a web-based format provided by the Department of Education. Consequently, if you do not have these softwares at home on your personal computer, the web-based software on the student portal will enable your daughter to complete set tasks.

In the event of public health stay at home directions, students undertaking learning from home will receive the following support:
  • Each class will have an online Google classroom with unique code identifier managed by their class teacher
  • Published lists of the classes and Google class codes will be sent to families
  • Teachers will provide work in an accessible formats for students
  • Teachers will monitor student engagement in online lessons and provide feedback
  • Teachers will contact families of students who appear to be struggling to engage in online learning
Family Support - We ask families to contact the school if the student experiences difficulties  trying to access online learning materials and/or participate in online learning as soon as possible.
