This week is Refugee Week and we acknowledge the plight of refugees. A refugee is a person or persons who have to leave their countries, homes and families because they have fear for their safety. They seek safety and will go through many challenges to adjust to a new way of life. Some of these challenges include, travelling long distances, learning a new language, learning new skills and facing financial hardship.
For 2020 the theme for Refugee Week is IMAGINE.
Together we can:
- Imagine a world where we all stand together and celebrate our similarities.
- Imagine a world without wars.
- Imagine a future where we find ways to care for our planet and protect life.
- Imagine if everyone was kind.
We are inviting our students to create a poster, song, poem, drawing, photo, narrative story to celebrate the theme of IMAGINE in relation to Refugee Week. Your teachers can help you and all you need is your IMAGINATION! See Ms Stefanidis for more information.
